Accounting & Bookkeeping FAQs

Do you work with individuals or only businesses?

Primarily we work only with businesses. However, we do work with individuals who are looking to start their own businesses and are in the planning phase.

Do you do individual tax returns?

No. We are not a tax firm per se, but geared more towards accounting and business services. We do advise on high level tax matters, but do not prepare tax returns. We work with our client's tax preparers to provide a seamless integration.

What type of accounting software do you use?

We use Quickbooks Online for our Accounting software.

Do you prepare and file sales tax and payroll tax returns for your business clients?

Yes, we prepare both sales tax / TPT and payroll tax returns for our business clients.

Do you have a business location where clients can meet you?

While we work remotely, we are happy to come to our clients and/or prospects' places of business. Zoom calls or Google Meets are additional ways we can meet. We are happy to meet at Starbucks, restaurants, or similar type establishments.

What type of software do you use for website development?

Our primary website builder is Webflow. However, we do work with clients that have Wordpress websites that want SEO work performed, website audits, and ongoing site maintenance.
Webflow allows customization for every aspect of a website's design and layout, and automatically generates clean, semantic code optimized for search engines and page speed.

What is SEO and how does it work?

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is the practice of optimizing a website or web page to increase its visibility and ranking in search engine results pages (SERPs) for specific keywords or phrases. The goal of SEO is to make it easier for search engines to understand the content of a website and to present it to users who are looking for relevant information. SEO techniques include optimizing website structure and content, using relevant keywords and meta tags, building quality backlinks, and improving user experience.

Is SEO a one-time effort, or an ongoing process?

SEO is an ongoing process. Search engine algorithms evolve, and competition changes. To maintain and improve your rankings, you need to continuously update and optimize your website.

How can I track the effectiveness of my SEO efforts?

You can track SEO performance through tools like Google Analytics and Google Search Console. Monitor metrics such as organic traffic, keyword rankings, click-through rates, and conversion rates. What is considered a good/passing score for Google's Core Web Vitals?

In order to pass a Core Web Vitals assessment, your web page must receive a passing score for the following 3 metrics.
1.)  Largest Contentful Paint - you must be under 2.5 seconds.
2.)  First Input Delay - you must be under 100 milliseconds.
3.)  Cumulative Layout Shift - you must be under 0.1.

How do you measure Core Web Vitals?

There are numerous tools and reports that can beused to monitor and measure your website’s Core Web Vitals. We recommend usingany of the following: Google’s PageSpeed Insights tool and both the CoreWeb Vitals and Page Experience reports in Google Search Console.All three of these tools use real-world user data to collect information aboutthe experience your site provides to users over about a 30 day period. In orderto troubleshoot fixes to your website for Core Web Vitals, we recommend using GoogleLighthouse. This tool gives you an estimate of how your web page willperform for the average user by using a controlled testing environment.

What is a Google Algorithm update?

A Google algorithm update is a change made to Google’s search engine in order to improve the quality, relevance, and overall user experience of its search results.

How often does the Google algorithm change?

Google updates its algorithm quite often. Sometimes thousands of times per year. But most of these changes go unnoticed. Typically, when a significant change is made, Google makes a public announcement well ahead of time.

What is the difference between Web Design and Web Development?

Website design refers to the process of planning, creating, and organizing the visual layout and user experience of a website. This involves creating the overall look and feel of the website.
